Privacy Policy

Effective: November 26, 2025

Last Modified: November 26, 2025

Welcome to 4XVR ("4XVR," "we," "us" or "our"), provided by Beijing Yileyuan Technology Co., Ltd.. 4XVR is a very powerful and user-friendly VR video player.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect information in relation to our software and services (collectively referred to as the “Services”), and your choices about the collection and use of your information.

Our Policy applies to all users who access the Services (collectively referred to as the "Users"). Your use of (or request to use) 4XVR or the Services constitutes your acceptance of this Policy.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT OR HAVE ACCESS TO

We collect information only as described below. We adhere to the principle of data minimization, collecting only the information strictly necessary for the specific purposes outlined in this policy. We do not collect any data beyond what is explicitly stated in this section.

1.1 Analytics Information

We use third-party analytics tools to help us measure service traffic and usage trends, troubleshoot crash issues, and improve stability. These tools collect information sent by your device or our Services, including device type, operating system version, usage statistics, crash reports, error logs, and performance metrics, which are hashed and stored separately from personal data, used solely for service optimization. We collect and use this analytics information with analytics information from other Users in an aggregated manner so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify any particular individual User.

1.2 User ID and Purchase Verification

To enable In-App Purchase (IAP) for the "4XVR Premium Version" and verify your purchase status locally on your headset, our application requires and accesses your Meta User ID. User ID is accessed only as needed for local purchase verification and is never stored or transmitted off your device.

In compliance with Meta Platform Policies and to protect your rights, we explicitly state:

  • Purpose: The User ID permission is requested solely to enable one-time permanent In-App Purchase (IAP) transactions and verify purchase status locally on your headset.

  • Collection & Storage: Our application code contains NO functionality or logic designed to actively obtain, read, record, or retain User IDs or any associated data. We have never, and will never, transfer, store, or back up your User ID to our servers or any third-party servers. No User ID data leaves your headset.

For implementing the IAP functionality, we use the following interfaces:

  1. ppf_IAP_GetProductsBySKU: Retrieves the price of "4XVR Premium Version" in different regions and displays it to the user.

  2. ppf_IAP_LaunchCheckoutFlow: Executes the IAP purchase process.

  3. ppf_IAP_GetViewerPurchases / ovr_IAP_GetViewerPurchasesDurableCache: Used to verify whether the current user has purchased the "4XVR Premium Version."

1.3 Log Information

Conditional Collection: We collect log file information ONLY under the following strict conditions:

  • You have been explicitly invited by our development team and have joined our private release channels using your account email.

  • You have voluntarily provided your test email address to us for debugging purposes.

  • The log data is automatically uploaded only when a technical problem is encountered during your testing session.

If you are using the standard public release version, no log information is collected or uploaded automatically. Logs are only shared if you manually contact us for support and explicitly choose to send them. When collected, log information is used exclusively to identify, analyze, and resolve the specific technical problems related to your test scenario. Logs are deleted immediately after the issues are resolved.

1.4 Statistics Data

We collect completely anonymized, aggregated statistics that cannot be linked to any individual user. This data contains no personally identifiable information—no User IDs, IP addresses, device identifiers, or any user-specific characteristics. Our statistics system only records global usage patterns to inform product development:

  • Playback counts by video type and resolution: 2D/3D flat videos, 180°/360° 2D/3D videos

  • Playback counts for special formats: EAC, 180°/360° fisheye, MVC 3D, Apple spatial videos

  • Usage ratios for different virtual theater scenes

  • Playback source distribution: local/SMB/FTP/DLNA/USB/WebDAV access methods

All statistics are aggregated across our entire user base without any ability to identify individual users or their viewing habits.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information described in Section 1 for the following specific purposes:

  • Provide and improve our Services (e.g., debug and trouble-shooting using test logs)

  • Develop and test new products and features

  • Monitor aggregated metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, and demographic patterns

  • Diagnose or fix technical problems using voluntarily submitted test logs

  • Understand global usage patterns through anonymized Statistics Data to prioritize feature development

We will not rent or sell your information to third parties without your consent. The legal basis for processing your information is our legitimate interest in improving service stability and performance, and your consent for optional data collection (test logs). You may withdraw consent at any time.

3. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We may share your information among our affiliates solely to direct your questions or technical problems to the appropriate team for resolution. Other than this limited affiliate sharing and compliance with applicable laws, we do not share your information with third parties without your explicit consent.

We specifically do not share Statistics Data with any third parties, as it is processed internally for product improvement only.

4. HOW WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION

The information collected through the Services may be stored and processed in countries where 4XVR and its affiliates maintain teams and facilities, which may be in a country or jurisdiction with different data protection laws than your own. We use commercially reasonable safeguards to keep the personal information you provide secure.

Important storage details:

  • Analytics & Statistics Data: Stored in aggregated form only, with no user-specific identifiers

  • Log Information: Deleted immediately after technical issue resolution; test logs are never retained beyond 7 days post-resolution

  • Test Email Addresses: After testing completion, then automatically deleted

  • User ID: Never stored, as it is never collected or transmitted

By using the Services, you consent to the access, use, and storage of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

5. DELETION OF YOUR INFORMATION

For general users, there is no personal data to delete except for information you provide directly for support. For troubleshooting cases, the information you provide will be deleted after your technical issue is resolved, or retained only as long as necessary to improve our Service.   You can also contact us (see “How to Contact Us” below) to have your information deleted.

6. PRIVACY COMMITMENT FOR CLOUD DRIVE ACCESS

The 4XVR Player does not collect, store, process, or transmit any user data from your cloud drives (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox). Our application is built on strict privacy-first principles:

Zero Data Collection

  • Authentication is handled exclusively by the cloud service provider (e.g., Google).

  • We never intercept, access, or store your login credentials or account information.

  • No personal data, file metadata, or content from your cloud drives is collected, shared, transferred, disclosed, or sold to any third parties—ever.

Local-Only Processing

  • Video files are streamed directly from your cloud drive to the 4XVR Player on your device.

  • All video decoding, rendering, and playback occur entirely locally—no processing happens on our servers.

  • Any temporary cache files (if used for playback buffering) are automatically and permanently deleted when the app closes.

  • No content from your cloud drive is ever retained on our infrastructure or shared with external parties.

Strict Usage Limitations

We explicitly prohibit any unauthorized or secondary use of user data, including but not limited to:

  • Targeted advertising or personalized marketing

  • Data brokering, resale, or commercial licensing

  • Credit scoring, financial assessment, or lending decisions

  • Training AI/ML models or building datasets

  • Retargeting, behavioral profiling, or interest-based advertising

We do not share your data with any third parties under any circumstances.

Security Measures

  • All communications with cloud services are protected via industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption.

  • We maintain no persistent storage of user files or cloud content on our systems.

  • You retain full control over cloud drive permissions at all times—you can revoke access anytime via your Google Account settings.

Your Data Remains Yours

Your files, credentials, and cloud content stay securely within your own environment. The 4XVR Player acts only as a local playback window—we cannot access, view, modify, or manage your cloud drive contents. Your privacy is preserved by design.

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

We do not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register for the Services. The Services and its content are not directed at children under the age of 13. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us.

8. OTHER WEBSITES AND SERVICES

We are not responsible for the practices employed by any websites or services linked to or from our Services, including the information or content contained within them. Please remember that when you use a link to go from our Services to another website or service, our Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party websites or services. Your browsing and interaction on any third-party website or service, including those that have a link on our website, are subject to that third party's own rules and policies. In addition, you agree that we are not responsible and do not have control over any third parties that you authorize to access your User Content. If you are using a third-party website or service and you allow them to access your User Content you do so at your own risk.

9. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect about you

  • Request deletion of your personal information (subject to exceptions)

  • Opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information

We do not sell your personal information. To submit a California privacy request, email us at contact@4xvr.net or use the deletion process in Section 5 above. These rights are available to all users globally, not just California residents.

10. HOW TO CONTACT US

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or if you want to request deletion of any personal information you have provided to us, please contact us at contact@4xvr.net

11. CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

We may modify or update this Privacy Policy periodically. When changes are material, we will provide notice through the Services or via email if required by law. Your continued use of the Services after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy. The "Last Modified" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.
